Youth for Technology Foundation, the recipient for this year's grant, is an international group that introduces technology to youth living in low-income and disadvantaged communities around the world. However, this grant will stay in Louisville
to help a group of girls learning to use 3-dimensional printers.
"We know adolescent years are primarily years in which young people, especially girls, lose an interest in science technology, engineering and math," said Njideka Harry, president of Youth for Technology Foundation. "Using 3D printing is a great way to inspire young people."
"We want to make sure that they have the latest and greatest and they have the capabilities to not only be able to continue to learn with what today's technology is, but to also prepare them for the 21st century as we move along," said Chad Douglas, general manager of Best Buy.
