Pedestrian killed in Trimble County hit-and-run

TRIMBLE COUNTY, KY (WAVE) - Troopers with Kentucky State Police are investigating a hit-and-run that killed a pedestrian in Trimble County Thursday morning.
The incident shut down KY 36 West about one mile from the town of Milton for more than seven hours.

Trooper Josh Lawson of the KSP Campbellsburg post said the victim, a woman, was found on the highway around 7:40 a.m. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been released.

Lawson said investigators believe the woman was hit and killed between 6:30 and 6:45 a.m. She was last seen at the Souvenir Shop in Milton between 6:30 and 6:45 a.m. Lawson said she was walking from Milton towards Carrollton and was struck while on the bridge just outside the Milton city limits near School Hollow Road.
State police had no information about a suspect vehicle. They ask anyone who was traveling between Milton and Carrollton on KY 36 between 6:30 and 7:40 a.m. to call them (502)532-6363 or 1-800-222-5555.
