Around 8 a.m., a Volvo was driving in the center lane when the driver lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle then struck both of the officers’ cruisers, the tow truck and the semi it was moving, as well as another semi in the far right lane.

KSP reported the troopers received minor injuries and are being treated at the hospital.
CORRECTION: An initial report, sent in a release by Governor Andy Beshear stated the driver of a semi truck lost control of his vehicle and struck the cruiser, and the driver of the semi was pronounced dead.
Closer to home, Interstate 65 South in Clark County was closed at the 6.8 mile marker just after 10 a.m. due to a four vehicle crash involving two semi trucks and two vehicles.
Troopers were able to reopen the interstate around 11:30 a.m.
Photos tweeted by Sgt. Carey Huls, spokesman for ISP Sellersburg, showed a number of traffic accidents troopers from his post responded to because of the icy conditions.
