Man in hospital after shooting in Southland Park neighborhood

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - A man is in the hospital after a shooting in the Southland Park neighborhood Saturday morning, according to Louisville Metro police.

LMPD said around 2:50 a.m. officers were called to the area of Strawberry Lane and Eiler Avenue on the report of a shooting, but they weren’t able to find a victim. Later, Mary & Elizabeth Hospital notified officers of a man who walked in with a gunshot wound to the leg. He is believed to be the victim of the Strawberry Lane shooting. He was then taken to UofL Hospital where he is expected to survive.

LMPD’s Non-Fatal Shooting Unit is investigating. There are no suspects. Anyone with information can call the anonymous tip line at 502-574-LMPD (5673) or use the LMPD Crime Tip Portal.
