State Senate considering medical marijuana bill

FRANKFORT, KY (WAVE) - The State Senate is considering a bill that would make marijuana legal for Kentucky doctors to prescribe to their patients.

The "Gatewood Galbraith Memorial MEdical Marijuana Act" would limit patients who are prescribed the drug from possessing more than five ounces per month.

Senator Perry Clark of Louisville is sponsoring the bill.

Perry said marijuana has positive medical benefits for patients and wants to allow marijuana therapy as an alternative treatment.
