KY man suspected in MO kidnapping in custody


LINCOLN COUNTY, KY (WAVE) – A Kentucky man suspected in a Missouri kidnapping is now in police custody.
Robert "Robbie" Caldwell, 25, of Danville, Kentucky, was taken into custody after a vehicle and foot pursuit at 3:35 p.m. Tuesday in Lincoln County, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigations.

The Federal Bureau of Investigations said Caldwell and an unidentified man carjacked a victim in Kansas City, Missouri at 5:30 a.m. on Jan. 22.
The victim was able to escape in St. Louis, Missouri. Investigators believe Caldwell fled in the victim's vehicle, which was wrecked when it was discovered on the Bluegrass Parkway in Bardstown, Kentucky.

FBI officials said afterward, a gray 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse with Kentucky license plate number 663 JKY was reported stolen and they believed Caldwell was driving the car.
Before his arrest, law enforcement officials said Caldwell was in the Danville area on Saturday.
Caldwell's accomplice remains at large. We will update this story with more information as it comes into the newsroom.
