LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – Louisville Metro police are investigating a deadly shooting in the Algonquin neighborhood.

At 10:40 a.m., officers were called to the 1700 block of Patton Court, across the street from the Park Hill Community Center, on a report of a shooting. They found the victim, a juvenile female, outside the apartment building.

There are no suspects, according to LMPD

The victim died before she could receive medical help. Her name will be released after family members are notified.

LMPD Spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said officers were looking for witnesses, but far too often people are afraid to come forward.

“I think always, someone sees something,” said Mitchell. “It’s a matter of whether they have the courage to tell us what’s going on.”

Mitchell urged anyone with information to call the LMPD Crime Tip Line at 502-574-LMPD (5673) or use the LMPD Crime Tip Portal.
