Man accused of shooting LMPD officer appears in court
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - A man accused of shooting an LMPD officer last year appeared in court Monday
Officer Brandon Haley was shot in the torso back in September near 40th and Kentucky Streets.
A WAVE Troubleshooters’ investigation showed that the suspect, Dominique Thompson, had been let out of jail on home incarceration a short time before he allegedly shot Haley.
Thompson was indicted by a grand jury on charges of attempted murder of a police officer, assault on a police officer and wanton endangerment, along with other drug and gun charges.
He appeared in court for a pre-trial conference, where the prosecution said they were still going through evidence and would like for Thompson’s lawyers to have enough time to review it.
He’s expected back in court on April 16.
