LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Two men have been arrested in connection to a fatal shooting on Saturday in the California neighborhood.

Louisville Metro police said the shooting left one dead in the 1000 block of West Broadway around 5:30 p.m. Police identified a suspect through surveillance footage.

Sunday, LMPD arrested Adrian Lee Burdette without incident in the 1000 block of Esquire Alley.

According to an arrest report, Burdette admitted that he shot the victim and shouldn’t have had the gun.

Burdette is charged with murder and possession of a handgun as a convicted felon. His bond is set at $500,000.

Ja’Merick Smith was arrested Tuesday for the shooting as well and is charged with complicity to murder. His arrest report said he helped Burdette search for the victim and was the getaway driver. Police also identified him through surveillance footage.

Smith is expected in court Wednesday.
