CORYDON, Ind. (WAVE) - It’s been almost two months since the shooting at Harvest Homecoming in New Albany that left one person dead and two others injured. On Saturday, people in Corydon gathered for a Christmas concert to raise money to help the victims' families.

Police say 18-year-old Bryce Gerlach, who was killed in the shooting, was an innocent bystander from Corydon.

Michael Keenan, who owns Explore Outdoor Adventures and came up with the idea for the event, said he wanted to bring some holiday spirit to those affected by the shooting.

“We noticed here people were down and they were talking about it and it was like a negative flow going,” he mentioned. “So we wanted to take some time, change that direction.”

The event featured vendors and a performance by country music singer JD Shelburne.

Among the vendors who participated were Nicole Cronen, who owns Ageless Agape and sells locally-made skincare products.

“Knowing that our money from our booth was going directly back into the community was a no-brainer for us,” she said.

Cronen said her business prides itself on family, which is why it was important for her to help raise money for those families going through hard times.

“I have four kids, so we want to make sure that where our kids are growing up that they know, ‘Hey, this is what we do for people in our community because if we were ever in that situation we would hope someone would step up and help us as well’,” she added.

So far five people have been charged in connection to the Harvest Homecoming shooting. Four of them have been charged with murder.
