LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Two people were displaced after a house fire in the Highlands, according to the Louisville Fire Department.

Emergency crews responded to a call at around 2:43 p.m. of a house fire in the 2200 block of Lauderdale Road on Sunday, Dec. 14.

At the scene, firefighters found a three-story home with heavy fire conditions throughout the house.

Additional equipment was requested due to the size and complexity of the flames, and a total of 50 firefighters worked the scene until the fire was brought under control at 4:22 p.m.

LFD says that one resident safely evacuated the house before rescue crews arrived, and initial reports suggest a possible rescue of another person.

The home sustained significant fire and smoke damage throughout the building.

No injuries have been reported.

The LFD Arson Unit is investigating the cause of the fire.
