Man shot, killed by LMPD officers in Hustbourne Acres identified
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – The Jefferson County Coroner has released the identity of a man who was shot and killed by officers earlier this month.
Louisville police said the incident happened in the 9000 block of Red Deer Circle, located off Taylorsville Road on Dec. 4, 2025. Officers responded to a call at around 1:30 p.m. of a man pointing a gun at a woman. The caller described the suspect as a white man with no shirt on.
Police found a man near the scene of the incident at around 1:55 p.m. who matched the description and was carrying a gun.
The two officers at the scene asked the man to drop his weapon, and when he did not comply, both officers fired and struck the suspect.
Despite the officers rendering first aid, the man was declared dead at the scene. He was identified as 32-year-old Casey Barnes.
The involved officers were not injured.
