Destroyed air conditioning units at Energized Baptist Church

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Kentuckiana church had to cancel services Wednesday night after vandals struck overnight and destroyed three air conditioning units.

Pastor Milton Seymour of Energized Baptist Church on South Seventh Street said the thieves probably got a couple hundred dollars worth of copper from the units, but it will cost the church nearly $9,000 to replace them.

"We gonna have to go in debt again because we're going to get a different type of security system," said Pastor Seymour. "Gotta put a fence up and everything else. And I don't know if that will stop em."

Pastor Seymour said the whole community, including junkyards, need to come together to crackdown on this community-wide problem.
