GLENDALE, Ky. (WAVE) -- A popular restaurant in Hardin County suffered heavy damage when a fire broke out early Tuesday. The fire started about 4:30 a.m. at The Depot Restaurant on Main Street in Glendale.

Investigators tell us it took about two hours to get the blaze under control. The Glendale Fire Department was assisted by the Elizabethtown Fire Department, the Central Hardin Fire Department and the Sonora Fire Department.

Tony York, the Depot's owner, was upstairs when the fire broke out. He was taken to Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, then transferred to University Hospital. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The second floor of the building was completely destroyed. The restaurant, which is on the first floor, suffered mainly smoke and water damage.

No word yet on what started the fire.
