HARDIN COUNTY, KY (WAVE) – Police have released a detailed description of the woman's body discovered on the side of a Kentucky highway in hopes someone can help them identify her.

According to Kentucky State Police, a mowing crew discovered the woman's body around 9:45 a.m. Wednesday in a grassy area near mile marker 99 south of Highway 313/Joe Prather Highway.

KSP Master Trooper Norman Chaffins said the condition of the body has made it difficult to determine her identity. There was no vehicle near the scene and police are investigating whether the woman was killed at that location or if her body was dumped there.

On Thursday Chaffins released a detailed description of the woman. While police were unable to determine the woman's race they believe she was between 20 and 40 years old, between 5' 2.5'' to 5' 5'' tall and weighing 145 pounds.

Police said the woman had wavy, shoulder length, dark brown hair with a few red highlights and well kept fingernails with remnants of red polish. The woman also had silver glitter polish painted on her toenails.

She was described as wearing pink sweat pants with white striped trim around waist and down the outside of each leg, a long-sleeved hooded top with a complex checked pattern of navy, red and light gray in large squares.

Photos of the woman's jewelry were also released. Police said she had a gold metal ring with turquoise-colored oval stone surrounded by clear stones set in ornate gold filigree on her right middle finger. She also wore a gold-colored earring that resembled a bee, with pink-colored stones on the upper sides and a single clear stone at the bottom.

KSP investigators said the woman's body showed obvious signs of trauma and had been wrapped in items they did not identify.
